The family of a Chicago woman who disappeared five days ago held out hope Saturday that she is still alive even after police found her car in Hammond.Police found Nailah Franklin's vehicle near an abandoned building and recovered some of her personal belongings there. The information led them to a nearby pond at a golf course, but they did not find anything there, authorities said.Franklin, 28, an Eli Lilly and Co. pharmaceutical representative, has been missing since Tuesday.

"We're watching and waiting," her older sister, Lehia Franklin Acox said. "We're hopeful that finding these things will lead us to Nailah."On Saturday morning, divers searched a pond at River Oaks Golf Course near the Bishop Ford Freeway and 159th Street in Calumet City.Chicago police had located her car a short distance away in Hammond about 10 p.m. Friday. Some of Franklin's personal items were recovered from the vehicle, although police would not say what clues led them to the pond. The vehicle, a 2005 black Chevrolet Impala issued by Franklin's employer, was towed back to Chicago for forensic testing, police said. The search at the pond was called off about 10:30 a.m., when no trace of the woman was found, officials and family said.Franklin's family held a prayer vigil Saturday night outside her University Village condominium in the 1500 block of South Sangamon Street.

More than 150 people attended the vigil to console one another and pray for a happy ending."For me, personally, it was extremely difficult," Acox said after the vigil. "But it was a wonderful show of solidarity that so many friends and family came out, and some people that didn't even know Nailah, but just wanted to show their support."Family and friends have distributed more than 10,000 fliers in the neighborhood to raise awareness about the case.Police continued to investigate her disappearance over the weekend.

On Friday, they tried to speak with many people, including a man they think made threatening calls to Franklin within the last two weeks. Another woman filed two orders of protection against the man in September. Franklin had filed a police report regarding the calls the week before she disappeared. Detectives encouraged her to file an order of protection against the man, but she never did.
